Water Pressure pump

We have just had a pressure pump fitted to the house which means better pressure and faster delivery of water to all outlets except the kitchen cold feed. We got it for hot water really but now even the loo's are affected. With the hotpress stripped out for work, the noise is significant. So I will put back bedlinen, sleeping bags etc but is it too late to install a rubber mat? and is it safe to put something right on top of the pump to muffle noise? We could just turn off at night especially when visitors. It is a Salamander type.
