    Hi all.

Just got quoted €4200 for supply and installation of free standing wooden stove in sunroom.

The stove itself is €2360 Henley G1 7kw

Is €1840 over the odds for the rest of supplies and fitting. I know prices are gone up on everything so just want to know if this sounds about right. The flue will have to go through the ceiling and height from top of stove to ceiling is approximately 1.5m

Unsure on the height of remaining flue that will be outside

I know that I don’t have the full info but just an idea if this is in the ballpark

    thanks 🙏

Flues are pricey, to be frank.

I was quoted 2,300 for a double height one including the work on the wall about 4 years ago, so I think your quote could be in the ball-park of normality.

is it going through a ceiling, then an attic space and then an A roof?.

    Is so a reasonable number

If a normal A roof with no trees etc, it needs to be 600 minimum above the ridge tile

Only through ceiling. It’s a Dutch hip roof. Enough over the required distance from the gable end of the house that it doesn’t need to be over apex of main house. Roughly 4 1/2 m of flue to bring it over apex of sunroom roof. No trees to worry about

Need to be 600 over the sunroom apex. 4-5m unsupported is ...

    How exposed is the site

Site is a little exposed. Apologies I should have been clearer with the overall length of the flue. Overall is 4.5m approx. External is 3m ish. I presume it’ll be braced. The lad that did the quote is fairly slow giving me a breakdown which doesn’t bode well for him getting the job. I’ve another quote arranged for next week so I’ll have a fair idea then. Thanks for your help 👍
