Heading to Dublin with 2 kids to see the Christmas panto. Looking for recommendations of where to eat nearby, pub grub really, nothing too fancy but not chipper food. Hoping to prebook so we are not searching for somewhere to eat in December at lunchtime. Thanks!

Sheehans pub around the corner in Chatham St.

Captain Americas in Grafton St. Has a kids menu too.

    +1 for Sheehans.

    Excellent food.

Do you know if they cater for children? Looking at their menu, it doesn't appear so. Do they offer half portions do you know?

hi - did you ever settle on a restaurant? i was going to post the same query as you but seen this thread. went to Thunder road cafe last year and it was ok but would like to try somewhere new.

Was in Captain Americas a month ago and found it disappointing to be honest and wouldnt like to recommend.
