De Jager going off is a loss.

But having Mostert on as his replacement is ludicrous.

Murray did well in that phase. Did not look there like the worst player on the pitch picture that is being presented by some here.

Murray playing well. Haven't a memory of him making a break like that for Ireland or Munster in a long time.

Just as I type he is off

True but my worry with that is it shows we've let SA impose their game on us, its great to see us compete so far but in the long run I dont see it working the whole game as SA are masters at this sort of game.

That's awful for Murray, and he was playing well

Some glimmers of hope with that offense push but we got nowhere

He wasn't playing well. He had a few cameo contributions, but his bread and butter duties as a 9 were poor.

That's a penalty for South Africa, but I hate seeing them awarded. They're deliberately holding the lifter in the air longer and preventing the contest.

Definetly not but he is in a position argubly the most important for a player playing this game style, if you arent perfect you'll be exposed.

Question from a friend in Edinburgh, who's showing the match over there?

    This too shall pass.

They are but we are winning on the scoreboard and this SA pack have started to slow down a little. I'd like us to start playing a bit more territory and get those big lumps turned around a bit more.

    Huge from Ryan

That offside was very very harsh. Christ he has a laser focus on us this half.

Fingers crossed but I would worry if SA get a significant purple patch in the final 20 if we'll be able to hold on. Now that they are blow we need to own the 2h and impose our game on them!

O'Mahony getting involved in off the ball nonsense is really beginning to irritate me.

Ryan has been excellent this half. Built on his impressive displays against New Zealand in the summer.

Hopefully that knock he took isn't too serious. We need him out there.

What happened to Big Stu? broken arm?

Looked like a popped shoulder. Seems to land on it funny.

Yeah I watched it back a few times, didn't see an offside.

The picture quality is appalling in SD on virgin. So ive used the Mute button.

So he made breaks, good tackles, didn't concede a penalty but played bad?? Ball speed out from the ruck was decent too.

Will remember that next time Hansen has a quite game on the wing but clear out a few rucks or James Ryan has a good clearance kick because its not in their defined roles and responsibilities as a winter.

You can only play whats in front of you.

I'm glad offside is being watched even if we're getting pinged. Two games this season Leinster have struggled with opposition line speed when in truth the other teams were miles offside.

South African line speed notably slowed after 30 minutes which I think is where Ireland has found more parity in the game despite South Africa over all being more dominant.

No major issue with the ref, his most egregious miss was before our last penalty, we had quick ball and Eztebeth flopped the breakdown onto and beyond our ball slowing us right up and the ref was 3 feet away watching it happen. Thought it was mad at the time!

Doris always does some stupid stuff in a game. Handling wise, easy tackles missed or brain dead penalties.

It sums Murray up that nowadays 9s can get the ball slapped out if their hands at rucks but Wiese caught him in a 2 arm tackle a foot away from a ruck.

Lack of accuracy in midfield and Murray being a bit slower off the base is hurting our attacking game. Pack is fronting up against a bigger team but mistakes are giving SA too much ball and it will tell in the last quarter. Big Stu was immense in defence apart from one missed tackle and showed good hands and carrying too.

There is a decent argument that De Toit and Kolbe should both have got a red, but that was never going to happen. Kolbe should have walked though. Ref quickly went for the 'landed on his back' with minimal review to avoid the decision.
