2015 Renault Megane - no power

    2015 Renault Megane 1.5 dci

I'm hoping somebody out there can help me? Wife's car has a slow puncture so used a halfords pump you plug in to the cigarette lighter. Started car, plugged it in, tyre back up, and stopped the engine, key out. No issue at all. Later she tries to start the car, but nothing at all. Dash doesn't even light up. No juice from the battery at all.

I have checked fuses in glove compartment and all ok. Lift the bonnet to engine bay and there's a clicking / ticking noise from where I think engine bay fuses are. I unclip the cover to be met with what looks like a sealed unit?

Now I'm out of knowledge and looking for some advice if anybody has ideas?

Sounds like the battery is completely dead which can happen when there

is a sudden drop in temperature like there was last night. Stick a set of

jump leads on and see what happens.

Thanks for the reply and you were on the button.

If its the original battery then its probably safer to replace it

Original better died a couple of years ago. Seems to be back to normal now.

Id get the battery checked . For piece of minds sake .

Ive had batterys last 8 years , others 2 to 3..

There is nothing worse than getting stranded due to a bad battery

I didn't bother getting battery checked. Hasn't happened since and battery appears healthy.

It's a strange one alright, a one off that it completely failed. Even jumping it took no effort.

On a side note, I've just recently had a battery completely dead in just under 2 years. Replaced free of charge, but they said warranty on replacement would only last for the remainder of original purchase. Doesn't bother me too much though.
