Have Halloween FM blasting in the kitchen and about to start carving the pumpkin.

    The tide is turning…

At least you get a bank holiday. We get nothing.

We sat again for an hour and a half discussing maps and figures and always getting back to that most damnable creation of the perverted ingenuity of man - the County of Tyrone.

Happy Halloween, gents hope the Samhain season is trick-or-treatin ya well I have acquired my getup for the evening; a pair of 14 eyelet doc martens one of those purple army issue bomber jackets with the orange lining. Superficial rip with the stuffing poking out, for effect. One of those slapstick slap-heads from the Fun Place to complete the ensemble and we’re good to go I’ve a lot to tuck, so hopefully no reverse slippage to reveal a full head of hair.

My makeup artīste setting to work as we speak. Couple of temporary tattoos; nothing permanent those things are an eyesore didn’t have to dig very deep for this stuff was still residing at the back of the wardrobe, you know how it goes. What was once hip is now positively terrifying, should put the willies up a fair few folk. Muahahahaaaa enough Frank n Furters going around as it is enjoy the evening; guys n’ ghouls 🧛🏻🧟‍♂️👮🏿‍♂️ gona be a punky skinhead party tonite!

It was the start of the year in our old Celtic lands, and we'd be waiting... in our houses of wattles and clay. The barriers would be down, you see, between the real and the unreal, and the dead might be looking in... to sit by our fires of turf. Halloween... the festival of Samhain! The last great one took place three thousand years ago, when the hills ran red... with the blood of animals and children.

    Good times

I'm glad so many people mentioned Samhain.

I might have thought you are exaggerating but I just came back from the park and saw two officers givin out to a group of youths, which is rare. A first actually. Should do it more often. Big group it was too.

Looking out the window here at all the fireworks. Some great ones this year.

Kicking myself I didn't get any.

I know they're easily gotten if you want but It's a load of old bollocks you can't buy them here with a garden license for one or two nights a year like Halloween and New Year's.

    Happy Halloween all.

I heard Michael Jackson on Today FM today, Thriller. 🤩

I can't recall any mainstream radio station playing any Michael Jackson song in years, not RTE 2fm that's for sure.

By 6.30 I’d ran out of the 80 bags of sweets I’d made up. Ran up to the shop for more supplies and before I’d got from my driveway to front door, an 18 pack of crisps was also gone!

So much for the rain keeping em all away.

I flipping love this time of year, unfortunately the poor doggies don’t so we have to hunker down.

    You're evil I can tell.

You injected sugar into sugar and gave the kids red bull as well. Don't lie!

Change it up so. Good thinking.

Made up 50 bags that were all gone by 6:30pm, hit the emergency supplies.

Where did all these kids come from, were people ridin' like rabbits during lockdown ?

We got a 10 min break in the rain about 7pm, me and every other neighbour onto the green letting off fireworks, great buzz

Lashing down rain here in Dublin 7 with some fireworks still going off.

No trick or treat callers to annoy me at the door - so that bowl of chocs and sweets in the hall will promptly be scoffed by myself and the OH. 😁

    Happy Halloween all! 🎃👻🎃

I made up 50 bags too. First kids called at the door at 5:45. All gone by 6:20. Usually the 50 would last until about 7, then you might get some of the stragglers or kids who are doing every estate in town calling in late, and you'd tell them they were too late. But this year, I'd say I had 100 kids calling. This is in a housing estate in Ennis. No rain this evening, so the kids had a great night.
