Why are most of the questions in the Work & Jobs forum related to public sector positions? Is it just the demographics/type of person who uses boards or are the jobs still attractive to younger people?

I dont mean this as a dig, but from chatting with family/friends, there is more time to browse forums etc in a PS job. Im private sector, but I work shift, so Ive lots of time to browse on my days off.

There is commonality between the public service with a huge amount of staff so the likelihood of someone in here being able to answer a question is quite high. Salary, locations etc are all known, so answers can be given

Private sector organisations are smaller in nature of course, so there’s unlikely to be any body willing to answer a ‘How much does xx company pay’ style question. Barely anybody will know the answer, and those who do might open themselves up to be identified

I think age is a factor too. Typically many join the public service in their 30s/40s, whereas the younger folk out of college would use Instagram/WhatsApp for contacts etc.
