Underpayment of Tax

I submitted medical expenses I had for the years 2019,2020 and 2021 - they came to over €6,000 so would have expected to get the sum of circa €1,200. I have checked on my Revenue Account and it is telling me I have underpaid tax. The only thing I can think of is that my employer had me on the TWSS. I thought that Revenue were automatically going to deduct these underpayments from anyone who was on this scheme over a period of 2 years (I was sure I had read it somewhere). I have tried to contact them by My Enquires but they take a lift time to answer queries on that. I just wondered if anyone knew if I could as for the lump sum and for them to deduct the overpayment over a period of years ? I could do with the money now due to the cost of living increases.

As the expenses were for three separate tax years; did you have underpayments in each tax year or have any potential refunds from the three separate tax returns been offset against an underpayment for one year?
