Hi, I maybe taking kid to Disneyland Paris. Probably will be staying nearby in an AirBnB in Val d'Europe, near the big shopping centre there.

Just wondering if anyone has been there recently, or in Winter. What are the highlights etc?

I can't seem to find accurate info on the RER train fares from the station near Disneyland, to central Paris. Anyone done this and got more info on this?

It would be great to see some of the real Paris again, as well as all that Disney stuff!

(I searched but coudn't find any posts with last 2 years).

Also, if anyone has stayed nearby, is there anything worth seeing/doing in the nearby Chessy/val d'Europe general area?

From what I know, and I have only been to go to DLP, the area around Val d'Europe is quite residential so not much by way or attractions.

There is the massive shopping centre with a Sealife and a food court.

Parks are a walkable distance, depending on the age of the child, but there is a dedicated free DLP shuttle bus that runs through the town, past the shopping centre.

Train station is easy to access but only got the train from there into Paris once so cannot help much on that front. Think it's the RER A you need....

RER A from Marne-la-Vallée (Disney) into central Paris costs 7.60€ for adults, 3,85€ for kids under 10, free for under 4s .

    Thanks, one-way?

Any recommendation on buying metro tickets in PAris itself? It will probably be just a long weekend. The "carnet" booklet of 10 maybe the cheapest/simplest way? especially since it could be years before Im back in Paris.

That's what we did. We've done Paris and Disney a couple of times in the depths of winter! The carnet works really well, especially as in winter you are more likely to hop on the metro than try to walk. We've done it a couple of ways:

First time: Early morning flight, straight from airport into central Paris, leave luggage in train station, spend the day in Paris, then RER out to Disney area late in the evening, couple of days in Disney.

Second time: Straight to Disney area after afternoon flight. Couple of days in Disney, one day in Paris - RER there and back, then leave from Disney.

Key advice - thermals and those pocket handwarmers. And the kids said that the best things for warming them up was actually the chocolate crepes!

Yeah, it's valid for 90 minutes I think, so that will get you one way only. The physical carnet of 10 tickets is being phased out since last year so they're not always easy to find. If you download the Bonjour RATP app you can buy contactless tickets that you scan with your phone.

Keep an eye on the weather as you may not need the thermals

We were there between Christmas and New Years Eve this year and it was very mild

Any thoughts on travelling direct from Charles de Gaulle airport to Disney station? Marne la Vallee Chessy?

    bus/taxi/train?

there seems to be a direct train, but as it’s a “TGV” probably more expensive?

...seems to be the handiest, especially if there's only the 2 of you.

I think the TGV is about the same (around €25 per adult) but you would have to check if the times suited you.

More info above....although I'm pretty sure the RER Train mentioned probably goes into Paris 1st and then you would transfer to another Train.

Highly recommend John who's Irish and owns ezyshutlle.com, if you can get him. Small company so often booked up.
