replaced 7-year old tyres today on my car. there were lots of tread left. so was very hesitant to replace it. but after seeing the cracks, I think i really dodged a bullet. It was a constancy tyre. beware ppl.

Low end Chinese ditchfinder brand, I wouldn't want them on new.

What did you replace them with?

I had cracks like that on a set of 3 year old continentals! Think it's exposure to sunlight does it.

Hey the ones below yours look like mine. Tread-less for the win!

Two Falkens. and a few months back replace another 2 constancy with two Toyos. counting on the Japanese tire makers for the next few years.

Yea. tyres were installed by the previous owner of the vehicle. wouldn't install them myself. maybe korean/japanese brands are the best bang for the buck, with safety ensured. I wouldnt spend 50% extra own premium brands.

I saw the thread title and said someone will use the word "ditchfinder".

Any chance you can back up that disparaging description as it seems to be bandied about on any chinese made tyre, yet reviews online are average and they also have to conform to certain safety standards.

I'm sure if you drive like a boy racer, it may not have the grip you want, but for someone looking for a low price tyre, it seems to fit the bill.

They see me rollin' (on my Linglongs) they hatin'.

Buy a cheap car but don't buy cheap tyres. Nothing worse than a set of ditchfinders on a car.

It looks like a **** Chinese tyre to me.

What’s wrong with expressing dissatisfaction with what it is?

I'd also ask why no car manufacturers, including Chinese brands and other budget brands, fit Chinese ditchfinders onto their cars? I'd suggest it's because the likes of Triangle etc are trash and a false economy.

Fine for second hand dealers to throw on and say ‘look she’s just had new tyres’ to someone who knows no better.

If you’re just tipping around town etc. they’ll do the job. Anyone into their cars will appreciate better tyres.

I have to say the steering the car feels a bit easier with my new Falken ziex tyres (not sure if its just placebo).

I am just thankful (and feels lucky) that the constancy tires didn't explode on me at motorway speeds. I suppose they have internal structures which probably prevented the burst

I bought the A4 and it had a set of Dexteros on it. .

Accelerate hard and you could make them spin in 3rd.

Currently on hankooks which you would struggle to get them to spin in 2nd in the same circumstances. Braking a lot better too.

Ive had bridgestones , pirellis continentals and goodyear on it. I found the pirelli best for grip but didnt last long
