There used to be a thread about what deals people were getting when they rang up the Virgin Loyalty team but I can't find it now.

I'm currently paying €77 a month for 500MB but they have an offer for new customers for €40 per month.

Was wondering if any existing customers had gotten that offer.

    Currently on hold to them

Are you out of contract? I was on the 1GB and I dropped it for 500mb and am get that for €35 for 9 months and the remainder at €70 works out at €43 I renewed in Aug, if your out of contract ask them to give you the €40pm

Got through and played hardball rejecting the first few offers saying I'd just cancel and get Mrs Frash to sign up instead

Ended up getting 1GB for €40 a month for 9 months (€80 for the final 3 months)

Can ring up again next year to re-haggle

You need to do it every year. If they don't give you the new customer deal you can cancel & have someone else sign up, wife/partner.

All they offered me last time was the same price but higher speed so I cancelled & hot 39/month for 12 months & 50 one4all voucher

Nice result but isn't cancelling & going in wife's name a hassle with the downtime?

We both work from home these days so an interruption would be a pain in the ar$e

I'm sorted for this year anyway

If you cancel you do have to change equipment but no need for down time. 3-4 days before your contract ends order the new equipment.

A bit of hassle but worth it in the end, depending on what they are willing to offer you before you cancel.

What I don't get is virgins refusal to acknowledge the hassle. They'd rather I cancel, send out new equipment & collect the old equipment instead of just honoring the new customer rate or at least close to it. I told them I'd cancel & sign up as a new customer so they knew the options.

My old contract was 60/month & they wouldn't offer better. 720 for the year. Instead in paying 348 singing up as a new customer.

    It is daft alright

I basically told them I would just leave & get the wife to sign up and in fairness the guy on the phone agreed it was daft which is shy (I think) he gave me the best deal he could

I think I'll go with sky or vodofone only 1 problem the estate has fibre to house but my house needs to be cabled to the distribution point outside. What's the best way to approach this, VM contract is up in a few weeks?
