Hello. Were going to the US end of next month

What is the protocol regarding covid now?

We have had our vaccinations (young kids have not) do we need to upload our covid certs online or present them at the airport?

Do we require a negative test prior to departure?

We have the visa side sorted but unsure what the deal around the covid certs

You need to be fully vaccinated but no tests are required. You should have to present your vax cert at check in, its not checked elsewhere unless you get randomly checked.

If you're flying with Aerlingus use the verifly app, its very easy to use.

I was aware of the dfa information alright but didn't know at what point covid certs were presented.. I didn't know about the Verifly app which will help ke get that sorted.

Don't want to land at the airport with wife and 3 kids and not have itinerary right

I am travelling to the US shortly. I have completed the Verifly process. I am only bringing hand luggage with me to the US. Will I be able to check in online for the flight and bypass the Aer Lingus desk at Dublin airport? Check in doesn't open for my flight for a few days.

Out of interest, did you have to show the vax cert when you checked in? Last time i went we needed the test etc. Im connecting through JFK in a few weeks and wondering when it should be shown (if its even asked for)?

What's their CDC form? Where did you get it? I wasn't aware of this?

How could there be spot checks on arrival when you've pre-cleared and arrive as a domestic passenger?

Yea. No, I'm triple vaxed. Wife has hers. I haven't been to the US since 2014. So a little rusty with all that needed. Used to be a ticket and esta.

I've fond memories of getting through US immigration back in 2002 for the first time travelling as a single man in my mid 20s

What's the purpose of your visit to the US?

Please take a seat over there ---->

Subsequent visits particularly with kids in tow, and now that it's in the Irish side, tends to be more easy going..

I'm not triple, vaxxed, but am double vaxxed.

I have both a digital and printed record, but it's nearly 12 months since i got my second jab.

Is this still acceptable?

Yes. The booster isn't required. You just need to be certified for your vaccination.

The vaccine is considered complete after 2 doses if its a 2 dose vaccine.

Filling out aerlingus verifly. Myself and wife fully vaccinated, no problem there. Our 9 year old is not. Seems to be you attest to child getting pcr within 5 days of arrival to USA! Is this enforced or recommended??

You dont have to use verify.

Verifly is only needed if you want to check in online AFAIK

Only takes a few minutes to add the information and the attestation is digital so just a box tick and you're done

We printed and signed forms as well but weren't looked for

8-9 hours beforehand, and you're penned in so if you leave to pee you can't get back in. Don't do it.

Go for a few beers, head to the Columbus circle entrance to times square for 11.45, watch the fireworks at midnight. Head back to bar. You'll hear the countdown as well from times square.

it states

Children 17 and under are exempt from the vaccination requirement.

For travel, the US definition of a fully vaccinated child is the same as the definition of a fully vaccinated adult. This is different to the UK. Further details are on the US Embassy website.

After arrival in the US, children 17 and under that are not fully vaccinated may be required to attest that they will take a test 3 to 5 days and will self-isolate should any symptoms develop or if they test positive. A parent or other authorized person should attest on behalf of a passenger 17 and under. More details are on the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

If a child (17 and under) is travelling with only one parent or someone who isn’t a parent or legal guardian, you may be asked to provide certain documents at the border. For further information, see the US Customs and Border Protection website.

Verifly was an absolute waste of my time.

Wouldn't accept my wife's cert automatically because of her name being maiden on her cert but double barrelled on the ticket. Had to be manually reviewed but never done

Mine was accepted and ready ro go but still showing as needing further info.

Kids were fine

As it happens we briefly just showed our certs at check in and that was the end of it.

Hello. No. You just need to complete the full dose of the original vaccine. So of it was moderna or Pfizer its 2 injections. Or Jannsen one dose. Boosters not required.

We flew from Shannon and it was a brief check of the vaccine certs at check in.

Aer lingus did say to have them ready at Boston is we were asked, but that never happened.. just walked through.

US has dropped the need to show proof of vaccination so anyone that didn’t get the medicine is free to enter.
