I find it predictably banal, just like the morning cycle of unprepared bullshit, yet unerring targeting of misery.

The only thing that frustrates me is paying 160 quid for him to sit out in his mews house in Blackrock accumulating freebies and lightly taxed earnings, and ergo, banking an absolute packet for very little.

If you want to cry big blubbering envious tears about the TV licence go ahead but honestly there are better things to do with your time than hate-watch the same show every week. Just accept it’s not for you.

Perhaps you can try watching RTE 2, for example, or listening to Lyric on the wireless. The licence fee doesn’t all go into Ryan Tubridy’s pocket, you know,

Independent producers making things like the Documentary on One, Two Tribes, the Irish Civil War. Concert orchestras. Archives. Longwave radio for people in Britain who still tune in. People in a decent semi-state making a living.

Livia, Emmet Spiceland, Dr. Phibes, Raichu etc are the 'Beasty Bots'. There's a trend in threads they post where anyone who criticises pronoun bullying or expresses anything contrary to their views is banned. They report straight away.

Danno, who has been on boards since 2004, 19 years, was banned recently. The whole thing is getting out of hand and boards is being dominated by a clique. Nuanced argument is being destroyed. A group of poor mods and their enablers.

Mark my words, I will be banned and this post quickly removed. These posters hide behind #bekind etc but are bullies.

It has amazed me how a group of less than 5 or 6 posters have destroyed so many threads.I imagine there's only a few people behind all those accounts and they are furiously pming each other aswell.

Yes one of the said posters with #bekind can get away with labelling a large group of people 'stale, male and pale'. The hypocrisy is breath taking, as is the biased moderation.

The owners of this site will eventually have to reign Beasty in as he's turning into a Robespierre type character. He's rude, bullying and narrow minded and treats the site as a personal possession.

Really it has only about 2,000 active members now and a few more thousand who log in for niche areas and queries. It's dying a death.

Mod: after discussion between us, we've decided to close this thread.

Despite frequent requests to wind back the personal digs and bickering, there are a set of users who insist on backseat moderation about other posters' origins - and a constant stream of personal abuse. While there are other users whose style borders of baiting, knowing the response it would generate.

I've held back from cards simply because I've hoped users would wind their necks in after the warning, but obviously that's too much to ask.

Both groups are unwanted and obviously can't live together, and have killed this thread as a result. We'll consider reopening the thread in a few weeks, maybe people can use that time to think on their manner - and learn how to use the Ignore User setting on this site.
