    Hi,

Our GSHP is in one year so we enquired about a service, we were quoted 120 for a remote server or 280 for onsite. Anyone know what these would entail and which is recommended ?

    Thanks.

I asked an installer about heat pump service he disingenuous to do service as nothing to service. Recommend brushing down or washing back of unit (fan blades & cover ) at some stage over summer. Mine in sunny spot so it keeps quiet clean.

Any issues with them usually due to areas with power issues ( regular disconnection or bad service)

Maybe remote service would be a software upgrade for the control until?

Heat pump has refrigerant. I'd imagine like the AC unit in your car the refrigerant will need to be replaced or topped up every few years. (Recharged). It's every two years for your car. It is recommended that you get your heat pump serviced every year. I would imagine every two years would be fine.

Solar panels are maintenance free. If there is a problem with the software then they can resolve it remotely. It is impossible to service a heat pump remotely. I'd be very wary of an installer who claims there is no serviceable parts or that it can be serviced remotely
