Does between 3.5 and 4 grand seem excessive for a wall of 29ft in length by 6ft height and not to be plastered. This is in Dublin. Also roots of a hedge that are there already will need to be dug up.

Is it labour only or incl. materials? Assuming digging out a foundation, putting in concrete and blocklaying it looks expensive to me if I compare with the cost to do these aspects of my garage build which is 55sqm cavity wall built with a raft foundation. The labour cost for ground works/raft and block laying will be about 4k and it is considerably more work. My garage pricing is a bit better due to doing it at the same time as a house build but by no more than 500 euro or thereabouts.

Such a small foundation could be dug and concreted in a day, 2 days max and blocklaying around 2 days would do a lot of it.

You dont mention access. Will everything have to be carried through your house for example.

A lot of things can affect pricing.

There's a side entrance. It's actually hedge stumps that would have to be removed. 12 in total. If we decide on fence panels instead of a wall how much would it approximately cost to supply and fit around 6 concrete pillars (would 6 be needed for 6 fence panels) and also the concrete base including removing the stumps.
