Have vauxhall combo van and was up for a test

Everything was okay exept when the test was going on the abs light went on and it's a fail

I drove home and light stayed on ,walked with dogs and came back and going shopping abs light was off and never went on again Been two days later to the garage and guys didn't find anything , computer said nothing wrong Went for a retest and yes test was going on and came out with another abs light fail

Back to garage with light still on and in garage it went off and stayed off , reading computer nothing wrong Let guy drive my van for miles and noting wrong again

Today the 3th test and at the test abs light went on again whats going on here , what are they doing with brakes we,re not doing ???

Cost me a lot of money and in the mean time it's going on for 4 months now

Get a small tiny drill bit and knock out the light job solved

They are likely doing some action which engages the ABS and then when it engages the fault light is triggering as there's some issue with it. Easiest way I can think of triggering ABS is to make a steady stop on either loose gravel or sand (go to a beach) and you will feel the ABS kick in, likely the light will stay on at this point too like during the test. It may be possible to feel some issue when the ABS engages that will help diagnose the fault.

They are using brake rollers so the front wheels are spinning and the back wheels stationary and visa versa...this is something that can't happen during normal driving so is likely triggering the light.

Can replicate by jacking up each end of the van and spinning the wheels, just put it in gear with the front jacked up

Isn't that test true for any car? or/and does the ABS light come on during it and then reset automatically?.

No, most models allow for such testing before they would set a code
