    1) Watch the free tv channels on 28.2 (replacing an old sky box), BBC, CNN, ITV etc

    2) Has a record option, not necessary to have double tuner. just record while I'm out.

    3 ) Simple user interface

    appreciate any recommendations,

    I know the zgemma h7s fits the above but is it over kill for what I want out of it, linux receiver etc.

    As a general rule, more basic/cheaper boxes may only have now/next EPGs instead of full 7 day. Also don't dismiss a recording facility. Sods law dictates there's nothing on all week and the 2 shows you do want will be on at the same time.
