If anyone is thinking of going to this for a good day out be warned. GREED has set in big time with the NPA and this year they want to charge you €55 just to park in a field. Cars are free as they have always been but motorhomes / campervans are now being screwed. Don't think that you can drive up for the day in your camper and park in one of the many carparks and go home in the evening, you'll be directed to the campervan field and have to produce your €55 ticket even just for one day. Greed of the highest order, absolutely disgusting.

Presumably the fee is for overnight parking. If you do not intend staying overnight, why take a motorhome? The NPA will presume you are going to stay overnight regardless of whether you do or not. If they permitted you into the ordinary car park, what's to stop motorhome owners from saying they're only staying for the day and them not moving on. I can't see how you find it 'disgusting'. You're free to move along and not bother with the championships if that's how you feel.

Campervans have always been free the same as cars, If you are in mid holiday or your motorhome is your only means of transport what are you supposed to do ? I find it disgusting that one section of those travelling to the event are expected to pay exorbitant rates to help recoup Covid losses. I've no intention of supporting them again or recommending the event to anyone. I posted the original comment just to warn others who may be thinking of going.

The ploughing championship is just one big car boot sale imvho and I haven't gone to it for over a decade, even then I only went when I got free tickets. The jungle telegraph tells me that some big name exhibitors will not be there this year which if is the case there will be more mickey mouse stands to make up the shortfall.
