Tabasco chipotle sauce... out of stock everywhere. Where the feck is it gone?

Is it a victim of covid / brexit or what the hell is happening? No shops stock it.

Product is made in the US so should have no Brexit impacts. I'd never seen it for sale in the first place so it may not have been a big seller to bring in.

It's harder to come across than it used to be but I got some recently enough. I can't remember where exactly though, it was either in Fresh in Smithfield, Dublin or a shop on Moore Street.

Doesn't solve my problem. I used to be able to walk into a shop and buy it off the shelf. It's been out of stock for many months now. Supervalu used to stock it too.

Just took a quick look at your posts and you seem to be in Cork so my previous suggestions won't be of any use. The supermarkets I was able to get it in before (Tesco/Dunnes) have stopped selling it for ages now so try Asian or Latin American shops, you'll either find it there or an alternative. Two suggestions for alternative brands I use are Cholula and El Gucateco which both have chipotle sauces and others that are really nice.

So they've refunded some of my order because I tried to buy all 6 but they only had 3 in stock.

I am about to buy the last 3 bottles of this stuff in Cork.

I was reading online that there was a massive crop failure in northern Mexico where basically all the chilli for hot sauce comes from. Americans are buying up stock by the bucket!

When I went to pick up the 3 bottles of chipotle the guy confirmed that the (sole) importer of Tabasco Chipotle sauce in Ireland is having supply chain issues. Not sure the exact cause, that mexican crisis could be it!

It doesn't solve your problem? It does, just you don't want to use the solution offered. That's fine, but don't pretend it's not a solution.

"Oh I want to be able to walk in and buy something". Fine, so do we all. But other solutions are no less solutions despite not being what we want.

It wasn't just me that thought it was a snarky and ungrateful reply to a helpful suggestion!

I stopped trawling after hours because of all the snarky unpleasantness. It would be a shame to see it start up in food and drink which is such a friendly space, generally.
