Getting title deeds from Pepper

I'm hoping to sell my home soon and my mortgage, originally with Bank of Scotland Ireland, was bought over by Pepper. An estate agent told me that he knows of several sales that have fallen through because Pepper had lost the title deeds. Has anyone experience of this and what can I do if the deeds can't be located? Also, a guideline on the timelines would be hugely appreciated.

Mod Note: May be more suitable for the legal forum (or accommodation and property forum)? I can move post there if you wish?

Hi @chancer12 wondering how you got on here? We went Sale agreed before Christmas and so far have been waiting 9 weeks for deeds to be send back by pepper. After seeing your comment about deeds getting lost it has me more worried.
