Garda Vetting timeframe

I recently secured a temp job through an agency. Before commencing this post, I submitted a Garda Vetting Invitation Form as requested approx. 2 weeks ago to the agency.

I understand the next stage in the process is that I will receive a vetting request via email from the National Vetting Beareau.

Anyone know how long it should currently take to receive the email after submitting the Garda Vetting Invitation?

    Thank you.

No one can tell. It depends how quickly your agency submits the request to the NVB. Some have a same-day turn around. Some are slacker.

    Thanks Mrs OBumble.

I'm a bit of a worrier when it comes to completing forms, and photocopied the vetting invitation I submitted to the agency, today, I realised I failed to tick the box just before my signature on the invitation. ( I didn't realise this at the time).

Will this be a problem even though the form is signed by myself?

I got my invite next day (mid last month). I would imagine any delays here are the agencies fault - however do check your spam filters. And contact the agency.

Basic vetting came back in five days (including a weekend) after submitting info. Enhanced vetting is still not back five weeks after the normal vetting - but not many jobs need that, including mine actually (its useful to have for specific reasons - but I'm actually in the job a month now)

edit: that five day / three working day turnaround may be a little abnormal due to job sector, the stated normal vetting turnaround is 8 days and specifically for my industry is 1 day... however that does not apply to invitations.

Thanks, I submitted the Invitation on June 28th to the agency, and it was received by them on this day. As above, I looked at my photocopy I took of the vetting invitation I submitted by chance today, and realised I didn't tick the last box on the form just before I signed it.

Will I be contacted about this or will it delay processing & receiving the email to vetting form?

Contact the agency. Ask them what they've done.

    Hi all

Thanks for all the replies & information.

Just to confirm that I received the link for the Garda Vetting and submitted same yesterday.

In all the entire process took a little over 3 weeks. A quick turnaround. 😊

A quick turnaround to receive the link is one working day... anyway, you're sorted now.
