How long do you need on passport to travel to Spain?

If an Irish passport is up in Dec 22, is this OK for travelling to Spain October, or does it need to be valid for a certain length of time after you leave the country?

It has to be valid for the duration of your trip, as you're travelling within the EU I wouldn't worry about it, if you are worried though just renew it for peace of mind

I'm just back from Spain. On my return journey my passport had 2 weeks life left on it. No issue

Should be ok. My passport was about to expire, Ordered a new one online Thursday, got it yesterday so the turn around times are quick now. Just don’t post your application can take 2 months or more that way.

Once it's valid on same day of travel that's all you need.

If it’s an EU passport it just needs to be valid. If it’s a non EU passport you count 10 years from the issue date (don’t go by the expiry) minus 3 months.
