Honda Accord Diesal 2010

I was looking at a Honda Accord diesal 2010 that's selling for between 2 and 3k. It looks a very clean car inside and out from the photos online. The Nct it just out but the owner said the car has no issues and he welcomes any mechanic inspection.

I have a few concerns though with the amount of previous owner's been 7 and 240km on the clock but it is a 12 year old car so the milage would be the lesser concern.

I checked it's history online and the car has actually changed owner 4 times in the last 2 years with the latest owner only having it a few months. The owner did tell me that he bought the car from his friend and that he doesn't really use it so he has decided to sell it now.

I am just wondering is there still a chance that this is a genuine car or should I stay clear. I really like the car and it's the only one I can find around that year that suits my budget.

Its a high mileage 12 year old car with no NCT. Each car is individually different so if you really want it then you need to get it inspected by someone who knows what they are doing and expect to spend another few hundred on the NCT. The price your paying should reflect the lack of NCT, regardless of the seller saying it has no issues.

That being said there are plenty of low mileage cars with valid NCT in your price range

Is it the black one for sale in Cavan? The seller has a number of commercial 4x4s for sale also so that makes him a motor trader rather than a novice private seller. So I'd take any convenient story about buying it from a friend and now not needing it with a pinch of salt. The fact it hasn't a new NCT would concern me as would any line about "it will fly through" by a seller. Ownership changing 4 times in 2 years would concern me too and that's without knowning what wheeler dealers may be passing it around who wouldn't have changed ownership into their names. There is usually good reasons why a car is cheaper than others similar models.

Yeah that's the car alright. The guy sounds like he has a bit of eastern Europe accent. I did notice alright in the photos that he has those paper mats in the foot wells that you would see in trader adverts even though he has the advert up as private. And he had the previous owner's amount hidden and wasn't able to tell me when I asked.

I saw in the car history there the first owner sold it after a year and half to trader who then sold it to another trader but they are not counted as the previous owner's. The third owner had it the longest 72 months before selling in 2020. And since that it had 4 owners who held on to it for 6 or 9 months at most.

I know a more realistic price for an Accord of that year would be probably around 5 k.

i had a 2009 exec spec accord and it was a lovely car - worth maybe getting it checked over by a mechanic?
