Timing Chain Inspection Cover

    Read on VWvortex that there is a inspection port on VW timing covers, I wasn't aware of this, if true, and looked after my daughters 2008 Passat 1.4TSI for ~ 12 years, I often thought that a inspection point would be nice, this car did around 250K miles without a problem with yearly oil changes.

    Wonder is the reference to a timing belt tensioner even though I posted the TSI photos, below. (Courtesy of George Dalton)
