    Hi

Could anyone give me some direction on this please?

A family friend is returning to work after a long gap and she needs two personal referees(any job she has applied for has asked for two) even volunteer jobs need two and noone is interested in her job references good and all as they are.

We have wracked our brains trying to think of someone to ask, the usual suspects such as teachers, guards, and PP are either unavailable or have refused. she has no history of volunteer work/coaching or community work so no one there to ask either.

    Ask two former colleagues?

When you say that no one is interested in her work references, I'm guessing you mean written ones. They are usually worthless.

But how about making contact with the people who wrote them, and asking if they would be willing to be referees.

Or - why was she out of the workforce? Who did she have contact with during that time? Would those people help? Even the postman could be OK... he knows she was living in the place after all.
