Strawberry Foot Rot

Have two store lambs, late to finish due to strawberry foot rot and poor thrift. Anybody know the treatment for it? I know normal Betamox won’t work. Foot bathing hasn’t worked either. I’ve read that topical tetracycline could. Does this mean spray normal tetracycline on wound or is there sprays available. There isn’t a sheep vet in the area so I’m at a loss.

You can get tetracycline in an aerosol spray, you have to get it from the vet, you must have a vet near you surely.

Get tetracycline injection as well, so between spraying the foot and injecting it should clear it.

when you spray the foot, make sure to leave the sheep on a clean yard for half an hour to let it dry in

From research done down under they reckoned lincomycin mixed with spectinomycin at the rate of 1 to 2.

They also found footbathing of no use. If you can get a vet that service's a piggiery he will have lincomycin powder, mix with water and spray on.
