Engagement Rings and Lab grown diamonds

I've been taking my time for the last, nearly 8 years now but I decided it's time to buy an engagement ring for the GF,

I found an amazing ring in a jewelers today but the price was way over my price range. The diamond was 2ct which, explains the high price. The jeweler showed me the exact same ring but the diamond was Lab grown. The price was over 75% cheaper for man-made diamond. That's a massive price difference.

The jeweler explained the rings are identical, the diamond is a true diamond in everyway, the only difference between the two rings is that one came out of the ground.

Do I need to be concerned in anyway when purchasing a man-made diamond? The ring is amazing and to have a 2ct diamond exceeds expectations. I feel it's a situation of "if its too good to be true, it must be"

    Should I be worried?

Why would anyone buy a natural diamond anymore if the only differences is the origin?

    Congrats firstly,

    Its a odd one really,

People will say natural diamonds apricate in value over time but unless its a really really high end diamond that isn't really going to affect you, Also nobody knows in the future if lab diamonds will hold there value or not ,

But then you can afford a ring you like the look of that you may not be able to afford in a natural diamond,

Then ask will you ever look to sell the ring probably not ? Will anybody ever really care how much its worth ? For me the real value of the ring will always apricate because to me the true value of the ring is the sentimental value,

Whatever you decide to do just don't do it to keep up with the Jones as they say .,

75% off seems like a lot. We went with a 2ct lab diamond from valentina.ie in the Powerscourt centre. the impression we got from them was that labs were about half the price of natural diamonds.
