Where to spend long Stansted layover

    Hello,

So I have a daytime layover of about 8-9 hours in Stansted. And I'd like to be able to relax and to work on my laptop.

I was looking at their airport lounge, but the visit is limited to three hours.

Maybe there is a hotel restaurant or some such close enough to Stansted that would be a good idea to pay for food and work in?

Problem with that airport is that there are very few amenities nearby..

my recommendation would be to hit the Radisson hotel… 5 minutes walk or less from the airport, the bar area is usually quiet during the day, wifi is free and fast… and nice bit of comfort.

    Looks great actually, thanks!

I was looking at booking a hot desk at WFH Bishops Strotford, but of course doing without a train ride is better. I have looked at the Radisson's website and they offer breakfast until 11AM, I'm making it for breakfast unless plane number one is significantly delayed. Then from 11am the bar is open, I wonder how much I need to be ordering so they tolerate me there for a few hours. And I do hope they have non-alcoholic options :)

Sadly no lunch appears available? Or does the bar serve lunch? The dinner from 6 is too late for me.

Hmm they used to but seemingly not…there is an adjacent restaurant in the hotel called The College Restaurant… that looks new as it wasn’t thee on my last visit but looks decent.

Okay, reporting back. Thanks a lot! The Radisson was a success.

I walked there, easy enough even with the luggage. I paid 18 pounds for an all-you-can-eat breakfast. And I was glad to do so as the price also included sitting in the bar area for a few hours after that, a nice quiet place to work.

There was a lunch menu at the bar, I did not use it because I ate a very big breakfast :)
