Energywise Ireland Banna Run 2022 10k/5k

Entries are open for the Energywise Ireland Banna Run 2022 10k/5k road race, this is an annual event hosting by my club St Brendan's AC in the immediate vicinity to Banna Beach, County Kerry. The 5K race is a fast and flat out and back course on a road that runs parallel to Banna beach. The 10K route follows the same route as the 5K but continues on a looped course that passes through Ardfert village and back to finish down near Banna Rescue. The event will take place on Sunday 31st July @ 9:30am (August Bank Holiday).

Both routes are AAI certified and this is an AAI permitted road race. Chip timing will be provided by myrunresults.com.

Please see last year's 10K route below, it is pretty much a flat course throughout with one minor hill around 5K and then a drag between Ardfert and Banna cross but nothing major. The route is slightly modified this year with a new finish line down around the Banna Rescue area.

Optional t-shirt available to purchase if that is your thing, bespoke custom medal for all finishers. The men's 10K winner will be present with the Tom O'Riordan Perpetual Shield and the women's 10K winner will be presented with the Chris O'Shea Memorial Shield.

Thanks for the reminder. Entered and might see you there although I'd say you'll be fairly busy. I had entered last year but managed to crock myself a few weeks beforehand. 🤕

Ah good stuff D, I'll surely spot you at some stage.

Fingers crossed for you, it's a quick route but you do need something in the tank for the last 2K when turning at Banna cross as you'll often get a headwind there if you've not had it already!
