Why are the stadiums only half full if even that for the Diamond League meets? Price? Or is it in real trouble?

Athletics in general does not attract significant numbers but Oslo on Thursday for the Bislett Games will be full as it's a smallish venue and a traditionally strong event.

Was looking at the NCAAs in Eugene and despite the quality of competition small numbers there compared to college football and basketball games.

New ideas needed to promote the events and to promote the best athletes. Also you need local stars at the events as they attract publicity and support. No matter how good an event is it has to be relatable to the local fans.

Yeah I agree. But I remember seeing evens being full or close to full before covid, wonder does the the european champs and world champs have an effect.

Have seen complaints about the world championships being in Eugene as it is not a good location for fans as it's miles fom Portland and not a tourist location. Still should be full as its not a huge venue.

Was in London for their World championships and there were great crowds for all the evening sessions. I imagine that Munich will have good crowds for the Euros as OK to get to.
