The road has collapsed on the Shannon banks side of the bridge. After all the works it seems crazy.

Looks like a bust water pipe, water erupted up through the tarmac. Hopefully there's no structural damage or the road could be closed for weeks.

Shows the jokeshop of long fingering the LNDR now. You'll have traffic from Shannon Banks, Westbury and East Clare using back roads as rat runs now until the bridge re-opens.

Imagine the head ache this will be for pedestrians if the footpaths are closed too

It's back open this morning after significant overnight works.

    Fair play to the council.

Methinks if it was Limerick Council, the road would still be closed

I'm going way back in time now but I remember a sink hole appeared on the Condell road. It was much worse than what happened on the Clare side last night, it was fixed quickly but not overnight quickly. Way back as in 2000/2001
