Booking an NCT

I'm trying to book an NCT for my car that is due in June. The earliest dates they are offering in any of the Dublin centers is November. What is going on with the NCT service? I asked to be put on some priority list but god knows how long that will take.

There are many threads with this and the advice I give is always the same: Check the online system around midnight as this is when they load any cancellations on. My mother booked recently and got an appointment online within 3 weeks.

NCT service is overwhelmed at the moment. Booking now (Late May) for June is leaving it very late. Only hope is for a late cancellation. (Try website after 12 midnight or pick up the phone & ring reservations)
Few other threads here on this very topic so well known issue at this stage.
