Have not been there since Covid but prior to that would go every year for 5 / 6 years. It’s a theme park all theme parks are busy and Gardaland is no different. Italians seem very family orientated and a lot go on mass - grandparents , parents kids and sometimes it looked like aunts uncles and cousins etc. They seem to make a day of it. All areas of the park seemed busy and I wouldn’t put much faith on the younger rides being less busy. The first few times we went we used to make a day of it however we now go in the evening - cheaper , slightly less queues etc. We have been so often we know what rides we like and we are quite strategic about them. It’s also slightly cooler which helps. It helps to think of it as the Italian version of Disneyland - very busy and tiring. I guess it depends on the ages of your children - it can be a hard slog. It’s quiet a nice park not as good as Disney but better than legoland ( Germany) and we always enjoy it when we go. If you do decide to go try to go on an overcast or cooler day if you can - the heat can be a killer with the crowds and queuing.
