Hi all, my wife has received a letter to say payment is being reviewed and to attend a scheduled meeting next Friday? She was on PUP and now JB.

Just wondering has anyone got any experience with these interviews as she up the walls?

They asked her to bring 6 months bank statements etc, so they keep these or do they have a look on the day and hand them back?

Any info on what kind of questions they ask?

It's a standard review and tell her not to be overly worried, in essence the Bank Statements are to check for any income. She could just bring originals and they'll photo copy them.

They will also enquire if she's being looking for employment, etc.

In essence they are reviewing her entitlement, insuring she's not working and meeting eligibility criteria.

Thanks for the reply Dempo1 , it’s the whole formality of it that she’s scared of, like any awkward questions to catch her out on something?

Honestly, this is new to many people and understandable she'd be nervous.

The two primary concerns of SW are

Persons income whilst claiming a jobseekers payment, so they'll look at payments into her bank account.

    Person is seeking employment.

Don't be concerned about means test as JSB is not means tested, JSA will however be if and when that time comes.

Finally they may advise or recommend job activation measure to assist in your wife seeking employment.

    Good luck 😉

Thanks for your help Dempo1, my wife made contact with them and went in yesterday. All was fine, they were very helpful and actually told her she should be claiming a payment for our daughter which we didn’t realise.

He gave her a form for Child Benefit, as her spouse will my income be means tested for this do you think? Or how would that work?

Delighted for you and the Boss 🤔 I presume your referring to a dependent child benefit not allowance 🤔

I'll defer to those with a little more expeerince on additional allowances as I'm not a parent myself but if it's your wife claiming and it's linked to her claim I would think it will be means tested.

If you don't mind I'll include @TooTired123 in my response they have better experience and understanding of additional payments etc.

But delighted your wife didn't have too difficult an expeerince 😁

    @quantity771

Hi , I found this so it might explain. If I'm reading it correctly, if your wife is on JSB it's not means tested but if on JSA it is , to I think in her current situation the payment is not means tested.
