Dublin Airport Self-connecting Flights

I'm just wondering if anyone has recently been through Dublin airport and had to do a self-connecting flight?

I'll be flying to Dublin from Kerry & the onward (all with Ryanair) and I'm wondering if I will have to go through security at Dublin airport.

I will only have carry-on baggage and will already have checked in, so I will have my boarding pass.

The website says self-connecting passengers will have to go through security, which is what I'm going on at the moment, however, it also says "please proceed to the baggage hall to retrieve your bags".

I know Ryanair are not a connections airline, but I'm wondering if anyone has direct experience of this and if it makes a difference that I will only have carry-on.
