Hi. A friend is interested in the purchase of a house but external plaster looks a bit dodgy. Does anyone know why this might occur in external plaster. Thanks in advance

    Second hand property?

    How old is it?

    It could be impact damage.

Thanks Gumbo It's a secondhand house that was built in the 1970s. It's not impact damage as it's at ground level. Is it normal for plaster to disintegrate over time? Or could it be an ant infestation causing the problem? Thanks

Impact damage is more likely to happen at ground level, unsure why you think that excludes impact damage. Could be as simple as mix being a bit lean and getting a knock of a sliotar, bike, etc

Ants are going going to burrow in concrete to make a nest.
