Actually their products (Batts) are excellent, there's a Burger Relish they do but it seems seasonal availability only (Summer BBQ" etc)

IMO the nicest mayonnaise (and closest to Hellman's) is SuperValu/Centra own brand.

I have tried the Batts/Lidl but didn't like the taste.

Batts (full fat) is the closest thing to homemade as you'll get, convenience game changer compared to Hellmans and Heinz which aren't a patch on it. Very hard to get lately, as were their ketchup.

The world has gone crazy altogether, Hellmanns' ketchup is nicer than Heinz, and Heinz mayo is nicer than Hellmanns. It's all backwards.

Hellmanns is one of lifes genuine mysteries. Yeah its nice, but its 3.29 for a 400g jar. Tesco own brand is 1.19 for a 450g jar. Batts is 79c for 450g. Aldi Bramwells is 85c for 500ml.

79c and 85c vs €3.29!

Doubt you'd tell the difference.

No they claimed theyd be able to taste the difference.

Blind tastings can give really interesting results.

People always assume that they could tell the difference between x & y in a blind taste but unless you've done it, you really don't know.

Yeah I used to work in the wine industry and some of the blind tasting results were amusing. 80 quid bottles vs 7 quid bottles etc.
