Hi My brother and I are having big birthdays in October he lives not too far from Chicago. We are looking to do 5 days somewhere it must be warm.

So a beach resort I was thinking Mexico but what other options are there.

We like to be active walking cycling and scenery and he says all inclusive is the way to go.

I have been to Florida which was good.

I mostly prefer Europe that America as I like the older places in Europe Italy, Croatia etc so I am thinking that Mexico might be nicer than Florida . Anyone been somewhere that they would really recommend

We like Cozumel and should you go you could use the five days to get diving lessons as diving is a big reason to go there. All the resorts will do all inclusive and try stay in four or five star. Three and below can be very basic. You can fly direct into Cozumel or into Cancun and get a ferry across from Playa del Carmen.

Was at Sandos Caracol eco resort over Christmas and New Year last.

    45 min drive from Cancun.

    Was all inclusive.

Really nice. There are different grades within the resort.

Tui do packages to there from UK.

We went thru Cassidy Travel and flew air canada through Toronto.

It's relaxing and by the sea with many pools.

Italy is one of the best choices, like Greece, France, it depends season.

    Cancun and Rio are nice!

Check out Riu Peninsula Palace in Cancun

Or the Barceló resorts further down the coast closer to Cozumel

I’d recommend secrets maroma beach riviera in cancun. Adult only. It’s got it’s own private beach. Food is amazing. Plus the Mexican people are very friendly.

Not sure I'd feel safe in Mexico

So, from now on, tourists could expect to see members of the Tourist Security Battalion patrolling popular beaches on ATVs, conducting random inspections in order to discourage criminal activity.

The truth is that the Riviera Maya, and particularly Cancun, has seen an increase in criminal attacks in recent months with Canadians, Americans, and visitors from other nationalities even losing their lives in the middle of random shootings.

Just two weeks ago, US authorities had to issue a new travel advisory against visiting Cancun, Playa Del Carmen, and Tulum due to “violence and criminal activity.”

Such incidents have led the American FBI to intervene in this Mexican top destination.
