Philips Hue Iris Plug Earth

    Hi there,

I have one of the older model Philips Hue Iris lights and today my dog went a bit crazy and broke the plug! It's just the earth pin that's broken, the other 2 are fine. I'm wondering if the earth is required as she had a little nibble on the wire itself too and there's only 2 inner cables. Does the earth serve any purpose or is it redundant or is it used as far as the transformer?

    Thanks,

    David
