Hi all, The AutoSave Draft feature is now disabled across the site. The decision to disable the feature was made via a poll last year. The delay in putting it in place was due to a bug/update issue. This should serve as a reminder to manually save your drafts if you wish to keep them. Thanks, The Boards Team.

Sorry if there's a thread on this already, not sure if this is a repeat.

But by God, they really pushed this on the general public. I remember my Dad bought some, not sure how much he spent though. Think it was a couple of grand. People were borrowing money to buy the shares.

Yes it's a repeat, I think there's a thread on it but finding it is another thing. It kind of came down to greed really, people were pretty much gambling as is the case with any shares, they just might have been 'steered' a little by the hype.

I know someone who borrowed something like 15 or 20k, bought as many shares as he could and flipped them after about 3 weeks for a tidy profit and had his loan repaid within the month

Yes those who got out after 2-3 weeks did very well.

I was one of those that did well, but I only had the minimum which was £700, I think I got £1070, great return. Pity I didn't have more to start with. Still based on how most others did I won't complain.

Unfortunately my Dad wasn't the most financially savvy. He believed the hype and held on. Not sure if he ever got much back.
