Could anyone recommend the best way to play music from iTunes on to a 2020 Volkswagen. Would it be best to try and connect the iPhone to the USB Port directly or download music onto a USB stick. I’m not great with technology.

Bluetooth would be easiest way to go, car should have option to connect to phone, then just play music on phone and switch source on car to Bluetooth.

The car should surely have Apple Car Play, what car is it?

Yeah, CarPlay is the way to go. Simply connect the phone to the car’s USB port and the phone will take control of the centre touch screen. You can use several of your apps including music.

If it's a Golf 8 or an ID vehicle or the likes iirc you dont even need a cable connection for Car Play anymore.

I’ll need a cable then, the phone is an iPhone with the only input being the charger point. They have done away with the headphone jack.

Jesus, who sold you that car!

Google Apple Car Play, your car has it. You dont even need a wire. It's put your phones apps onto the cars infotainment screen and work away on your music from there.

Cant seem to see a video in english for the Golf 8, this is for the Golf 7 but it's similar enough for you to have a go at.

I’ll give that ago. Will the Bluetooth connection be as good a sound quality as hooking it up via cable and USB?

It’s not really but it does depend on what music you like , for example pink floyd would be missing some of the subtle dynamics, death metal sounds like mud and most modern pop is fine as there is little or no dynamics

look up the loudness war if your interested in the decline of dynamics in modern mainstream production

Sound quality is important, I’d pay for the cable if it meant better sound quality.

I'm not into anything too specialist but i've never been actively disappointed by the sound quality.

I’ll set up CarPlay tomorrow and see if it sounds good.

It’s got nothing to do with the headphone jack. CarPlay is a digital connection, it lets you use various touch screen apps like Maps, Music, AudioBooks, Messages, Phone Calls.
