Biggest Disco - Drumcoura City, Ballinamore Co. Leitrim.

Hi all,

I am considering going to the biggest disco in Balinamore on the 22nd of July.

Can anyone confirm if this event is good? The lineup appears to be decent.

Also, is there an area for camping or similar? Just wondering if I need accommodation. Which appears to be quite scarce..

Due to phenomenal demand we are delighted to announce that camping will be available on site at 15 Euros per pitch. There is no need for pre-booking as we have enough space for everyone, and camping tickets will be available at the gate!

No bother, it's a nice spot for a festival, the place is well set up and the scenery surrounding is lovely. Hopefully you'll have a blast!

(@bodhrandude - I remember a lot of the acts well from my own teenage disco years, so there'd be a huge nostalgia factor in it for a lot of people, but not to everyone's taste I know! Glad there's a market for niche festivals all the same, we need more in general I think!)

Kosheen really, really are slumming it in that lineup. However, I'm fairly sure my 13 year old self would have been pleading to be let go.

The market isn't what it ought to be for acts like them but they're gigging fairly regularly in small venues and less 'glorified' line-ups, be fun to see them, and yep, my teenage self would be absolutely sneaking out of the house and finding my way to Leitrim to see them 😄

Sorry for bombarding the thread, but just reminders (especially to those that thought they didn't know any of them) that you may not recognise the artists, but I would bet a lot of money that you recognise the songs (other artists there too, I just picked at random)

It seems similar to a lineup you might see at one of the Butlins camps festivals, Big weekenders etc.

I think (not sure) Shiiine on Weekender was one of the first ones of that type of festival. Concerts aimed at the over 30's and 40's etc.. Great weekend to be had I reckon.

Some of these clips are vaguely familiar alright, I'm quite surprised though that the festival didn't manage to book The Grid, or maybe they have just went into retirement.

Went to this gig in the 3 arena before covid and it was great craic...No need to worry about young 15/16 year olds running and screaming everywhere and everyone just having a good time.

Say it would be the same at drumcoura.

Might actually go to the one in Puncherstown. Looks like a decent day out. Some very cheesy acts but also some decent ones too like Faithless (Max), Prodigy (Leeroy), Paul Oakenfold, Mauro Picotto
