VW Golf MK7 Water leaks!!!!

    Hi all

    Have a 2017 MK 7 golf.

When I bought it, I noticed the driver side rear light had condensation in it.

Passed it off as a non issue but after a while, I took it off and poured out lots of water from it.

I dried it all out and put it back but it appeared again. Decided to replace the seals but after doing so, I noticed water in the spare wheel well.

Some research suggests the vents behind the bumper are leaking.

I'm not entirely convinced because the light keeps getting condensation on it.

I also lifted the back seats today to see if its went there too and unfortunately it is

So for me it's narrowed down to that vent or a leak in behind the rear light.

Has anyone else experienced this issue?

The two popular spots on the Mk7 are the rear body vents and the rear door speakers. Both are cheap and easy enough to DIY if you have a bit of time. You dont even need to really replace either of them if you take them out, clean away all the original foam gasket reside and refit them with

I'd say the lamp is just conincidentally defective. Try replacing the foam gasket between the lamp and the body, cheap and cheerful way to test it and if that doesn't work just replace the lamp.
