Wood burning Cassette Stove - Cracks on Chimney breast

We have a Stovax Elise 680 8Kw Cassette Stove that was installed when we built our house back in 2017. We opted for a smooth skimmed finish around the stove once installed but we have had nothing but issues with cracks on the Chimney breast above the stove.

There was approx. 2" gap between the top of the stove & where the block work starts & this was supposedly filled with a heat resistance plasterboard. The plasterer used a specific plaster finish that was heat resistant.

I am wondering if anyone else has similar issues & what did they do to resolve. All advice welcome.

Something similar happened around my friend's stove a couple of years ago. They re-lined the face of the wall with Vitcas HT Plasterboard cutting the ope in the middle of the sheet to the exact size of the surround so there was no joints near the stove, they didn't skim the wall afterwards, just painted the smooth side of the Vitcas and so far it's hanging in there perfectly.

Can't tell from the pic but what width is your firebreast wall?

The chimney breast is 1575 wide
