    Hey guys

has anyone been to Lake Garda mid to late May ,

Thinking of going over for a week to one of the camp sites (bella Italia) with the kids but not sure about the weather that time of year,

Is it good enough to make use of the swimming pools

    Don't know what's happening!

I was there the first week in June a few years ago. The weather was lovely during the day but there were a couple of spectacular thunderstorms at night time. We were in Bella Italia the first time and as we couldn't get that site the second time, we went to Camping del Garda and it was great too.

We've been going there for a few years, mainly in June/July but we did go in May once. The weather was generally good and warm (very early 20's) but there were only a couple of days where it was actually warm enough to spend any time in the pool. On the plus side it is before the season really kicks off and there are way less people around. Even if you don't get to spend loads of time in the pool there is loads else to do around the area.

  • Was there in late June a few years ago and it was low 30s with a few thunderstorms, we stayed in the smaller site beside Bella Italia (Camping Cappuccini). Good area, we used boat and train travel the whole time, only thing you would need a car / taxi would be for the supermarket. According to holiday-weather.com, you can expect a high in the low 20s in May https://www.holiday-weather.com/lake_garda/averages/ .

Just worried the kids won't get use of the pools ,

Not sure id Spain or Canary islands will be a better bet in mid/ late May
