Ryan Air - Flight Delay

On a flight out of Fuerteventura on Saturday and it was delayed for 3 hours.

Plane began to accelerate for take-off and then the brakes went on and the plane returned to the terminal. Spent a couple of horrible hours on the very hot plane until we were bussed to another plane and eventually took off.

A lady in the queue to re-board told me that we would be entitled to compensation if we were delayed for 3 hours. (flight over 1500km)

Ryan Air reported the delay (to the landing time) as 2 hours and 59 minutes.

I don't believe this - far too convenient - Is there a way to check?

What should we be entitled to?

Ryanair have form on that, I've had two 2 hours 59ish delays in recent years. No luck with compensation

What time did you land at, vs what time were you meant to arrive ?

I didn't check the exact time of our landing (approx 02:30 AM) as I pretty sure that it was going to be over the 3 hours

Stats say 3 hours 5 minutes delay so yes you should be entitled to compensation once they don't have a valid reason for the delay...

I think you would be entitled to €400.

I'd not bother with Ryanair unless you have patients of a saint and loads of time, I'd just hand it over to one of the companies that specialise in getting the claim sorted, they charge about 30% of the claim...

I had Ryanair flight delayed for 3 hour 5 minutes. I just filled out their form on their website no questions asked and I was given 400 euro compensation.

I think Ryanair reputation takes precedence here. In my case it was very straight forward filled application with in a week had my compensation in my bank account.

Glad it worked out, I was getting nowhere myself and just let Flightright deal with it and it was all sorted with minimal input needed from me.

I ended up booking another trip with Ryanair on the funds I got back, there must be sense in that decision somewhere 🤔

What sort of commission do they charge?

They charge 30% but I felt that it was well worth it as I didn't have to do anything other than provide them with details.

They needed the boarding passes. So, if you plan to do this, try to ensure you keep these.
