    Another day another slog 😆

No opinion on winners or each way really.. fancy one shorty 'not to win' mainly.. Think Knickerbocker Glory ~ 11/8 in 1.30 Ludlow is vulnerable for win purposes here.. won nicely 2 runs back, but that was on proper soft ground,, a lay at 6/4 or shorter imo. Hidor De Bersy ~ 7/4 probably deserves to be 2nd fav for this,,, not guaranteed to fully appreciate the goodish ground here methinks, but did win a bumper on similar last March,, would be my pick of the two, but wouldn't like to be on him myself at less than 5/2.. I think something beats Skelton's horse, though I don't know which one, as, apart from the 2nd in betting nothing is jumping off page.

    that's t'thread sta'ted anyroad!

GL all what are gettin involved 2moro, either with geegees or with shoy8 tk on t'interwebs 😆

4:46 Ncs - Shalaa Asker 5/2 is back to Newcastle again after winning nicely over CD last time, only up 2lb for that. That form boosted by 2nd horse winning nto and jockey's 7lb claim could be decisive here.

    6.30 Southwell

liking CHLOELLIE Nap 9/1 gen e/w at prices here. Went wide the last time she visited the course, which was two runs back. Was only beaten 1.5 lengths that day. looks a big price here given make up of race. Jack Ryan ~ 9/4 fav might not be far away, but difficult to see him win. fair price if ya do fancy him,, was a good run lto at Lingfield. She's 0 from 5 at the course as regards wins, is Chloellie, but only one of those were on new surface, so no ?s as regards 'course form' what need answering.

if ye're only having one bet today let it be Chloellie 😋

I have to admit I don't quite understand how to read the "stakes" race cards, I know they all carry the same weight but how their ratings come into play - hell knows.

Today's flat action is mostly tricky small high class races and/or short favorites some of them deserved others most likely false, e.g. like the one in 7:30 Southwell. I looked at that one for ages and gave up at the end. I have an inkling that Water of Leigh might bounce back to form, he ran a very good 2nd after missing the start completely but flopped in lingers next time, so is that it or it just something went a miss that day, current favorite Intervention is unbackable at 5/4 stepping up in class. Then there's Igotatex, The Cola Kid and Dream Game, none of them can be ruled out completely.

    😁

Glad to hear it j@u ! ur not the only one,, races in general, the weight bands, qualifying criteria etc, are all mainly beyond me an all, and I don't really care.. Handicaps are generally where it's at imo, as with the 5 different handicap classes on t'flat (in Britain) , it makes it easier, imo, to judge them on a 'like for like' basis,,, unlike, say Ireland, where the bands are that bit wider, and harder to solve I guess..

looked at a few of them in 7.30 (tricky race alright) , and it's hard to see past ~ 5/4 fav intervention here,, won very easily lto at Wolves..

Igotatext is interesting at ~8/1 having improved to come 2nd lto at Lingfield,, value looking price, and Hollie on top, but he looks like he barely stays the 6f trip..

Beccy's Water Of Leith ~ 8/1 would probably have demolished these going on his 2yr old form, but has shown very little of late,,

The Cola Kid ~ 10/3 won very easily lto (in a race where I had a pick or two iirc) lto, and didn't look at all likely beforehand, but wasn't unsupported.. different track today tho,,

Didn't bother looking at any others,, if I was having one bet, and likely I won't, it'd be on the fav here, but I'd be wanting at least 11/8 to do so

No luck in 4:46. I'll try Baby Steps 9/1 in 5:30 South of the "drop in class" basis.

gluck with Baby Steps j@u 😊 nice price, and Laura Pearson (3) a very good apprentice - she's due a race imo, though have a sneaking suspicion she's tryna save her 3lbs for flat season proper,, anyroad, being drawn 11 of 11 is hard to overlook for a frontrunner, and 'twould put me off! has won a Class 4 at Wolves (similar surface) in past, and was drawn wide then too!

Just 1 bet for me today.

The fav in the next at Southwell the 6.0 - magic gem is getting hammered in the betting into around 4/6 from 6/4. I'm not keen on the fav though and I think it will get beaten. I'm thinking it's a mile horse. Can't see it winning, had a fairly hefty lay bet here.
