Does anyone have any experience or knowledge of the 1.6 petrol SX4 S-Cross? A family member of a friend is selling a 2015 one.

I’m just looking for a safe roundabout second family car. Most days it would only do trips of a mile or two. Other days it would do about a 30 mile round trip.

Are they reliable or troublesome? Any other notes on them?

    Thanks

    Hi,

made in the Suzuki factory in Hungary. Plenty around there with the Petrol - 1.6 120bhp, recently it overtook the Vitara(despite the Vitara looks much better for many). Decent boot size 430-litres, which is on par of the Quasqai. Not known for rust issues, however some in the UK complained of chipping rusts on the bonnet(I still have a Swift 1999 just to have it, and had an Ignis 2005, no rust whatsoever).

The 1.6 petrol aspiration is more than enough to handle the car, sharp and agile when needed, but only 5 gear, which didn't bothered me. It feels as a very decent urban/suburban runaround. Front seats are comfortable an support is good. Lots of passenger space as well. 430 liter boot space feels bigger. With folded rear seats you can move a house easily. Interior: simply and easy use with hard/easy to clean plastic, but they last. They put more effort on simplicity and practicality than making it a 'looker', again it just taste.

Reliability. Top. This is why people buy it. No recalls as far as I know.

Maintenance wise, change the oil/filters in every 10-12k and the engine will run probably until 500k. Mechanics can deal with any issues, prices are on the lower side. Parts are no issues to get.

Definitely liked it, and if anyone needs a reliable family runaround and not afraid of the Suzuki badge, it is worth to consider it.

    All the best.
