I seen this on a job advert and I was thinking of applying same job diff dept I am full time serving Civil Servant wondering would u get the same rate as I am on now and would I have to do a probationary period again?

Entry will be at the minimum of the scale and the rate of remuneration will not be subject to

negotiation and may be adjusted from time to time in line with Government pay policy.

Different terms and conditions may apply if you are a currently serving civil or public servant.

I am only guessing but I would think that say if you are a CS in SW and are applying for a CS role in Revenue for example. Your previous years/service would count towards the starting pay point, especially if there hasn't been a break in service?

I would think that you would be on probation as you are a new entrant into that department from an outside competition.

Would it be easier to apply for mobility? It would be a straight swop and no probation as far as I know. Plus you wouldn't have to go through all the stages of the competition
