Seized oil ring any tips

Any tips for freeing out a suspected piston oil ring. Car has been sitting for 2 years, was perfect when parked up, very little use since, but now failing NCT on idle emissions. Would soaking in diesel free it out? Any suggestions?

    BMW Series petrol

Additional info: The car is running perfectly, no evidence of blue smoke when driven gently, some blue when pushed on

Who made that diagnose and where is evidence?

Obviously the car needs driving and why not to change the oil before NCT. Also 2 years old fuel is not suitable for NCT. Drain it out and use only fresh fuel.

The mechanic who services the car says it's a common issue with BMW's after lying for a long while. The petrol is fresh, with a dose of Dipathene added.

That story they tell for everything. If you just add new fuel without draining old out, you did not made things easier or better. That garbage fuel what they selling these days have only half year shelf life (tank life :P). Diesel last bit longer but petrol is the real garbage quality thanks for ethanol.

Sure, there can be more possible problems. Injectors, spark plugs, pcv valve, you name it. I do not think the oil rings can cause major NCT failure. Just check everything else, before you make something stupid
